BETTY CRAKER HENDERSON AUTHOR, MUSICIAN, STORYTELLER |
|
Betty and her husband Ben are two parts of a band, Country Color. They appear at local Missouri festivals and picnics. For the past twenty-four years, they have hosted a bi-weekly 'hootenanny' called the McDowell Gold Jubilee, from October through the first of May. They strive to help make others get comfortable with music and entertainment. The band plays bluegrass, country and traditional Ozarks Folk music. Betty plays the bass fiddle.
Betty also uses her music to conduct local Children's Workshops where she can talk about folk traditions, Ozarks history and hill music. By letting the children get literal hands on experiences, the Ozarks traditions come alive for them.
